Why does KAVA exist?

  • To promote professional standards of excellence in the field of Volunteer Administration
  • To offer education, training and support opportunities
  • To raise the awareness about the field of Volunteer Administration in the local community

Who can join Kava?

Both paid and unpaid volunteer managers are welcome. Many of our members also have multiple duties within their organization in addition to the volunteer administration role.

What does KAVA membership offer me/my organization?

  • Access to best practices, community connections, regular training, and networking with other volunteer administrators through our monthly meetings and events.
  • Opportunity to apply for a scholarship to work toward Certified Volunteer Administrator (CVA) certification.
  • Opportunity to apply for individual subsidies for relevant training and conferences.
  • Regular notice of events and training in the Kentuckiana region.
  • KAVA  maintains a partner membership with the Center for Non-Profit Excellence that allows KAVA members to obtain access to their library resource and reduced fees at CNPE workshops, online seminars and lectures.

What do Monthly Member Meetings consist of?

  • Relevant and engaging speakers and panel discussion with experts in the field
  • Opportunity to network with and learn from other peers in the volunteer administration field
  • Regular member presentations to allow members to promote the work of their agency (this includes you!)
